I had never felt the need to improve upon this recipe, however, it occurred to me a while ago, that I didn’t need to improve upon it, and could still enjoy something a little different. It’s rather like having strawberry lemonade once in a while. The classic old fashioned lemonade may still be best, but who’s keeping score?

Speaking of lemonade, try this cranberry lemonade (with or without a kick)!

Notes

  • A standard sized shaker can accommodate the ingredients for two drinks at a time.
  • If you don't have simple syrup, make it using a 1:1 ratio of boiling water and sugar. Stir until the sugar has melted, cool, and use as desired.
  • You can use a premade strawberry syrup, but it won't taste as good!

    1. I think it’d have to be a plain old rhubarb martini, Cathy. What do you think? I’m guessing the tart of the rhubarb and lemon together might require a more sugar than would be good for us?! :) I’m game for trying though!

  1. Dear Christina, what a fabulous and refreshing summer drink. I love this variation as well…it is a nice way to switch things up a little. xo, Catherine
