And here is how to make proper Scottish porridge for breakfast (or any other meal of the day, for that matter!)

How to make porridge

There’s a rather long story as to why I competed in the World Porridge Making Championship or Golden Spurtle Competition in the first place, and the things that transpired to bring me to Carrbridge. Let’s just say that it seems karma did her job on this day and I couldn’t be more pleased!

Maybe one day I’ll tell the whole story. It’s a good one.

If you’re ever in Scotland in early October, you may want to head up to Carrbridge to watch the competition at the village hall. It’s truly quite exciting! Don’t miss the bridge in the village, if you go!

  1. Hi – I read about our win on NPR and immediately tried to look up the recipe here, but I can’t find it. :( It’s morning and I’m dying to try this porridge. Can you send it to me please?
