Bacon wrapped olives are one of those incredible combinations that require a lot of self control. Not in making them, but in eating them. Talk about addictive!

The first time I made bacon wrapped olives for a party, I asked my brother, “Aren’t these amazing?” as he was popping them into his mouth.

His response? “How can you go wrong with salt and fat?” Good point.
Actually, the combination of the salty, pimento-stuffed green olives and bacon, especially when still hot out of the oven, is nothing short of marvelous. As you can see, I chose bacon with very little fat. What you can’t see is that it has added nitrates or nitrites (just natural nitrates from celery).

These tasty bacon wrapped olives are so simple to prepare–just cut, wrap and poke!
Bacon Wrapped Olives
makes 24
- 8 rashers of bacon
- 24 extra large green olives, stuffed with pimento
- (toothpicks)
Preheat oven to 400º F (205ºC)
Cut rashers of bacon into thirds.
Wrap one third of bacon rasher around olive and secure with toothpick.
Next, place on foil lined tray or pyrex dish.
Bake for about 10 minutes, turn the olives, and bake another 8 to 10 minutes or so, or until the bacon is starting to brown and is cooked.
Serve bacon wrapped olives as an appetizer, or part of a buffet. They’re superb for cocktail parties, but just as good for snacks or even picnics!
Although I think they’re best just out of the oven, room temperature is just fine, too. My husband calls me “Teflon Mouth”, so unless you’re like me, be careful eating them too quickly from the oven. 😂

I just pinned this and will be making this soon! Thanks for giving us this great sounding recipe. We generally keep large pimento-stuffed olives in our house, so all we need now is the bacon.
Awesome, Peggy! I hope you love them as much as I do!
Well these look fabulous! I can also see using those huge olives stuffed with garlic!!! What a great appetizer.
Wow, these look fantastic. What’s not to love? I will definitely be making them soon – but there will be no SuperBowl watching in this house. 😊
Thanks, David. I think my husband will watch it, but it’s about the only game he watches all year, thank goodness!
I can see why they’d be addictive eating! Just imagine with a lovely chilled cocktail of yours, Christina.
