I had never felt the need to improve upon this recipe, however, it occurred to me a while ago, that I didn’t need to improve upon it, and could still enjoy something a little different. It’s rather like having strawberry lemonade once in a while. The classic old fashioned lemonade may still be best, but who’s keeping score?

Speaking of lemonade, try this cranberry lemonade (with or without a kick)!

Special Equipment

  • 1 8 oz martini glass

Ingredients

  • 2.5 oz Ketel One Citroen Vodka
  • 2 oz lemon juice (fresh Meyer lemons are best)
  • 3 strawberries (2 fresh, chopped and one whole)
  • 2 oz simple syrup see notes
  • sugar for rimming glass
  • 1 lemon slice

Instructions

  • Rub a cut lemon around the rim of the martini glass, then place the rim in sugar (on a flat plate.)
  • Place the 2 chopped strawberries in a beverage shaker with the simple syrup. Muddle the strawberries well.
  • Fill the beverage container with ice then add the vodka and lemon juice. Close and shake for 10 seconds.
  • Strain into the prepared glass. Garnish the strawberry lemon drop martini with a strawberry and lemon slice and repeat as needed because everyone's going to want one! CHEERS!

Notes

  • A standard sized shaker can accommodate the ingredients for two drinks at a time.
  • If you don't have simple syrup, make it using a 1:1 ratio of boiling water and sugar. Stir until the sugar has melted, cool, and use as desired.
  • You can use a premade strawberry syrup, but it won't taste as good!
