This raspberry smoothie doesn’t need any sugar, ice cream, or milk. It’s simply sweet, nutritious and delicious on its own thanks to some nectarine and fig.

Much to the dismay and horror of my Italian born mother, I dislike fresh figs.

So, the fact that I have a bearing fig tree at the moment, and my mother, whose favorite fruit is figs, is not here to eat them, is rather a problem. My kids don’t like them either (which is apparently my fault, according to my mother).

Actually, I wish my kids and I did like figs because they are a super-fruit, full of so many health benefits! However, where there’s a will, there’s a way, so I decided to “hide the figs” in a smoothie with other fruit I had on hand: raspberries and nectarines, and without any added sugar, it was so sweet and refreshing and nutritious!
When I have a lot of figs, I make orange fig jam!
But the best part was that with this raspberry smoothie recipe, no one could taste the figs–shhh, don’t tell my mother!
Another fig recipe I love: fig cake with orange and brown sugar glaze.
Now, onto the super easy, nutritious raspberry smoothie recipe.
