A boozy way to use kumquats!

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 12 kumquats
  • 1 ½ cups ice cubes
  • 1 oz Grand Marnier
  • 2 oz Ketel One Citroen vodka or substitute plain vodka if you like
  • 3 tsp caster sugar plus extra sugar for rimming the glasses

Instructions

  • Prepare the glasses by rubbing half a kumquat around the rim and dipping in sugar.
  • Cut the kumquats in half and remove all the pits. Keep two or three thin slices aside to garnish the glass.
  • Put the ice, kumquats, Grand Marnier, vodka and sugar in the blender jar.
  • Blend until smooth and pour into martini glasses.

Notes

  • Adjust the sugar and alcohol to your desired taste/strength.
  • Great tip from reader Jacqueline Lawless "I dehydrate my kumquats and use them in my homemade granola and as a garnish in cocktails. I also put a few dried kumquats into a spice blender, blitz them into a powder and rim my cocktail glasses with the powder for an extra zing."
