Buttery Maple Peach Topping (Sauce) for Waffles, Pancakes, Ice Cream and More

A buttery topping filled with maple syrup and peaches for ice cream, breakfast dishes and more.

Ingredients

  • 2 peaches ripe, sliced (nectarines are fine, too)
  • 2 Tbsp butter good quality, salted
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • ½ cup maple syrup (real maple syrup!)
  • 1 Tbsp Grand Marnier or Peach Schnapps

Instructions

  • Place the peaches and butter in a sauté pan and cook gently for about 2 minutes.
  • Add the brown sugar.And then the maple syrup.
  • Continue to simmer over medium heat for another 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and add the liqueur if using. Serve as desired.

Notes

  • Any stone fruit works in this recipe: nectarines, plums, apricots, etc.
