Glorified rice is a vintage American recipe that is essentially rice pudding with additions such as canned fruit, and is served cold.
1 recipe rice pudding RICE PUDDING RECIPE LINK IN NOTES 15 oz fruit cocktail canned, in fruit juice (drained, reserve the juice) 4 maraschino cherries (optional)
Get Recipe Ingredients
Stir the chilled rice pudding, then add the drained, fruit cocktail.
Mix until combined, adding some of the liquid from the fruit cocktail as desired, then spoon into bowls, or glasses.
Serve as is, or top with a single marachino cherry.
RECIPE FOR CREAMY RICE PUDDING
You may want to 1 or 2 more tablespoonfuls of sugar to the rice pudding recipe if you like a sweeter dessert.
